About "That Mood Lady"?
My story
For a long time, I didn’t recognize what I was experiencing as anxiety and depression — I just knew that life felt heavy, exhausting, and harder than it seemed to be for everyone else.
Anxiety made my mind race and kept my body in a constant state of tension. Depression drained my energy, my motivation, and my sense of joy. Simple things felt overwhelming, and I often felt disconnected from myself and from life around me.
What made it harder was realizing that many of the usual suggestions — “think positive,” “push through,” “stay busy” — didn’t actually help. They often made me feel more broken for not being able to do them.
It wasn’t until I began experiencing symptoms of PTSD after a traumatic incident that I realized I needed support. That realization led me to start therapy and learn more about what was happening in my body and mind.
Over time, I began to understand that what I was experiencing wasn’t a personal failure. My nervous system was overwhelmed. My body was holding stress, fear, and exhaustion, and it needed care — not pressure.
Healing didn’t happen all at once. It happened slowly, through small, gentle changes, learning to listen to my body, and allowing myself to take steps that felt possible rather than perfect.
That experience is what led to That Mood Lady.
